Title: Bond Gadgets - Die Another Day
Reviewer: Ernest Lilley
Date: 11/25 Rating:
Summary: Admit it, you watch Bond films for the toys. At some point you realized that the Bond Babes weren't going to show up at your door, but it's only a matter of time before whatever James is playing spy with becomes affordable for those of us without Her Majesty's Secret Budget.

If you could only take these gadgets back in time to the first Bond movie, nobody would believe that even the most advanced secret government lab could possibly make them...

So, just so you can lust over them to your heart's content, we've assembled a list of the Tech Toys to Die Another Day for along with prices and weblinks in case your BondGirl (or Guy) wants to equip you for daring do this holiday.

With any luck, we'll bring you first hand reviews of some of the cooler toys in weeks to come. I just want to know why Bond didn't get a Tablet PC to play with.

Toys Worth Dying Another Day For:
Aston Martin
Car:
V12 Vanquish
Bond gets a car equal to the man, and even gets to drive it around for once. Even without the stealth technology, missile launchers, ejecting seat and bulletproof body the Vanquish is a technological tour de force with it's composite frame and 462 bhp V12 engine.
Ford Motor Company
Car:
Thunderbird
Thunderbird Convertible w/ Removable Top What could be better for Halle Berry as an American NSA agent than this retro-revival of a car? Ms. Berry's T-Bird is "Torch Red", and it can light your fire for an MSRP of about $39k.
Omega
Watch:
Seamaster Professional Chronograph
As Q points out, this is Bond's twentieth Seamaster Professional, and he hasn't brought one back yet. Yours should last considerably longer, and without the laser or remote detonator options, the battery will too.
Sony/Ericsson
CellPhone:
T68i / T800

T68i and P800 Sony EricssonBond lovers have to choose between the T68i with Bluetooth for remote connectivity with all his other data devices and the T800 with it's 208x320 pixel screen and Bluetooth. It's tough being Bond.
Plantronics
Noise Canceling Headset:
M130
I'm sure the M130  is a great headset, but one wonders why Bond doesn't use Bluetooth? Well, the inside scoop is that Plantronics sent a bunch of headsets over...and Q had his way with them.
Norelco / Phillips
Electric Shaver:
Spectra / Sensotec
When you want to take off 14 months of unsightly stubble, you need a serious shaver. Bond knows about close shaves.  Warning: Do not let Q play with the shaver.
Samsonite
Attache Case:
Xylem 800

Whether you're carrying diamonds or just incredibly valuable documents, do it the way Bond would. What ever happened to Halliburton, anyway?
