Cars weren't made for cities and mass transit takes more money and commitment to do well than we seem to be able to muster up. Bikes, on the other hand allow that freedom of spirit and peripatetic nature we love, while putting a little welcome wind in our faces as well. May 1-11 is the twelfth NYC Bike Week, and it comes at time when Congress is considering a bill to give cyclists the same benefits as car commuters (Blumenauer Introduces Bill to Benefit Employees Who Bike to Work). It's a week for a ride.
