This Week In TechRevu
TechRevu:
StudioLine Photo 2: A photo archiving and sharing program for general users. Protects original files while allowing you to edit your images with its photo tools.
While it may not be perfect for pros, it's fine for their friends and
family who need more organizing than editing.
TechRevu:
Canon S400 Digital ELPH: We use an S400 for a lot of TechRevu's
coverage, but somehow never got around to reviewing it here. If you've got a collection of CF cards
and want a camera to go along with your DSLR, this is possibly the
smallest (and coolest) camera to use CF. A new 5 MP and upgraded 4 MP versions have been released, which
should make S400 pricing even more attractive.
Lowepro Rezo 20 Digital Camera Bag
- As much as we like big cameras, there are
times when slipping little camera into our jeans is the only way to go.
But even a pocket sized camera deserves better than a pocket so we
got ourselves this cool little case. Secure zippers, easy access, room
for cards, or even a small cell phone.

"Wagon's Are Cool." The new wagon starts around $13K and comes with a
lot of standard features, not the least of which is the100,000 mile

Nordic Cool: Hot Women Designers' Exhibit: Showing contributions of women designers from Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway,
the exhibition shows how the commonality and divergence of design among
Nordic countries. The exhibit will show both the development of women in
Nordic design as well as introducing contemporary designers including
the team that created Volvo's YCC concept car, designed by women for
women, which will be presented at the museum on April 20th.
McGraw Hill 04/12/04 McGraw-Hill/Irwin Announces Innovative Pilot Study Tool on
Cell phones: Why equip students with Latops or PDAs when you can send them educational content via their
cell phones? Study to Go offers a variety of subjects and study tools so that you can work on knowledge drills rather than cell phone games during those odd moments when nothing's happening.

MSNBC 04/12/04 A 'perfect storm' brewing in robotics: "Just as the constant march of technology is driving down the cost of key components, top universities in robotics are reporting major increases in federal funding, with the Defense Department the biggest spender." There's no question, robotics is a hot growth field, partly because autonomous vehicles have proven themselves in combat, and partly because we'll need them to take care of us down the road when we all get older. Charles Sheehan reports on the military's acceleration of research and how it's affecting the industry. Also: A Brief History of Robotics (interactive feature)
Factivmedia 04/13/04 New Security Robot Doubles as Facility Operations' Wi-Fi Robotic Assistant: Once a PatrolBot scans its work areas, it travels automatically to perform tasks: mapping temperatures to improve central heating and cooling efficiency; measuring wi-fi signal strength to improve coverage; enabling security guards to remotely investigate several problems simultaneously, and carrying light, emergency supplies or other equipment into an unsafe or dark building.
Washington Post 04/12/04 Feds Might Join Piracy Fight: "If you download copyrighted music from file-sharing services like Kazaa or Morpheus, you're already the target of a multi-million dollar anti-piracy campaign spearheaded by the music, movie and software industries."
