There comes a time when you get tired of moving everything yourself. With homes and apartments, that means you stop bribing friends with food and beer to help you haul your stuff around, and with computers it means you plunk down $59.99 for a copy of PCmover from Laplink to figure out what registry settings need to be moved in order for you not to have to reinstall every program you own, as well as moving your files from machine to machine, and setting up matching user accounts. It will even move you from a PC to a Mac (running Windows). But for us the best part is that it's certified with every Microsoft OS from Windows 95 to Vista. Our copy just arrived, and we're looking forward to finding out if it's more careful with our files than our last mover was with Grandma's vase.

From release/information:

PCmover is the only migration utility that moves programs, files, and settings from your old PC to your new PC. Simply install PCmover on both your old and new computers and go! PCmover will determine which programs, files, and settings need to be moved, and when the transfer is complete, your new computer will work with Windows Vista and have the personality and functionality of your old PC plus all of its own pre-installed software. Works with almost any Windows operating system, from Windows 95 to Vista.

PCmover can migrate your PC across a network, Laplink USB cable, Laplink parallel cable, Windows Easy Transfer Cable, or any type of removable media that can be read by both PCs. If your computer has multiple users, PCmover gives you the option to migrate some or all of the users at once. The security information about file ownership and access control is preserved for each user.
