Event Canceled: Snow Trumps Show.

DC is association central, so it's a natural venue for the 2010 ASAE Technology Conference going on next week. Associations are what social networking was before it got webby and self-organizing, and it's going to be interesting seeing how the new world of association interfaces with the old. Will an old dog learn new tricks, or will its tail wind up wagging it?

"We regret to inform you the 2010 Technology Conference is canceled. Because of the record snowfall in the Washington, DC area and more inclement weather in the forecast, we have decided to cancel the event.

The Technology Conference is our third largest annual event, celebrating its 5-year anniversary this year. This was an extremely difficult decision. We know this is an important event for you and that many of you have made significant investments to participate in the show. But with the already poor road conditions and the strong likelihood that the ability to travel by land as well as air will become even more difficult, our decision was based on the safety of attendees, exhibitors, staff and guests attending the event."

Good call considering the weather. Pity though as we were looking forward to talking to a number of the speakers. Still, we can always follow up with them on our own.
